A High-Level Conference is conducted
A high level conference on the theme of “Revisiting Ethiopia’s Role in the FOCAC and the Way Forward” took place in Addis Ababa On May 21, 2024. Institute of Foreign Affairs (IFA) in collaboration with the Chinese’s Embassy in Addis has organized the conference.
The conference holds immense significance for Ethiopia’s involvement in the FOCAC, and is expected to lay the groundwork for future developments. Several participants, researchers and other stake holders have taken part on the conference. Besides ,PRC, FOCAC, MOFA were key of the attendants Anteneh Getachew (PhD) Director General of Asia and Pacific Affairs Research Directorate at the Institute of Foreign Affairs (IFA), delivers the welcoming remark on behalf of H.E Jafar Bediru-IFA Executive Director and highlighted the conference’s objectives Moreover, he emphasized the need to foster collaboration and dialogue among stakeholders to identify opportunities for further development and strengthen the Ethiopia-China-Africa partnership.
It is quite understood that Ethiopia finds itself at a critical juncture, ready to leverage its strengths and opportunities to maximize the benefits derived from the FOCAC partnership. It is of utmost importance that we collectively envision a future characterized by sustainable development, inclusive growth, and equitable partnerships.
Following his speech, H.E Ambassador Eshete Tilahun,the Head of the Office of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, delivers an opening remark, and H.E Ambassador Yang Yihang, Minister Counselor of the Chinese Embassy in Ethiopia, PRC, delivers a keynote speech.
The event sees the participation of high government officials, diplomatic envoys, researchers, and director generals of IFA.
