The United Arab Emirates Embassy in Addis Ababa, in collaboration with UNESCO and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, organized the third seminar regarding the 28th Climate Change Conference, which will be held in December 2023.
The seminar focused on women’s empowerment in the public sphere and its relation to climate change. H.E Ambassador Misganu Arga, State Minister of Foreign Affairs , delivered the opening speech, highlighting the significant role of women in addressing climate change.
During the program, several research papers were presented, including Dr. Haymanot Eshetu’s research titled “Exploring Ethiopia’s perspective on the role of women in climate change decision-making.” Dr. Hayimanot is the Director of Multilateral Affairs at the Institute of Foreign Affairs (IFA).
The seminar had the participation of up to 100 diplomats and stakeholders from various countries.
